In the 1980's whilst practising Tai Chi, my interest in the Chinese healing systems grew. Consequently in 1989 I undertook the three year course at the College of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture in Leamington Spa. I qualified and started practising in 1992. I quickly became so enthusiastic about this ancient healing system that I gave up my job as quality manager of a large company in order to practise acupuncture full time. In order to offer my clients the best possible treatments, in 1996 I took a further two year training course in Integrated Chinese Acupuncture, in Reading.

To further improve my practice, I also completed courses in ear acupuncture and sports injury acupuncture. My treatments are now much more holistic, enabling me to successfully treat a broad spectrum of conditions, including arthritis, depression, addictions and I specialise in all types of sports injuries, post operative care and pain management. I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council, who require all members to have achieved a demonstrable level of competence in Acupuncture, Clinical competence and Western Medical Sciences. All members are bound by the Society’s code of ethics, which covers relations with patients, fellow practitioners and the general public. Training lasts for a minimum of three years, and all acupuncturists are fully insured.

    Therapies I offer:

    • Traditional Acupuncture
    • Reiki

I have been a holistic therapist now for over 13 years; my career took a turn into Natural Therapies when I reached 30, after working in different roles in the travel industry.

The change came about for me when I realised my personality and my calm nature would be better channelled into a caring role and trusting this instinct, I enrolled onto a therapy course in Bristol. It was one of the best decisions of my life, and I am now doing something which I love and enjoy so much.

In my treatments, I work very holistically, with my aim being to encourage good health and well being, whilst allowing you to feel nurtured and cared for. I use aromatherapy oils often through massage as I feel it brings so much more to the treatments and the products I use in reflexology are natural handmade foot balms that I have made.

I began my training at Bristol College and achieved a diploma by the International Institute of holistic therapists in 2001 which included Aromatherapy Massage, Reflexology, Swedish Massage and Anatomy and Physiology. The following year I continued by studies into Advanced Reflexology and Anatomy and Physiology at Bath College and achieved a diploma by ITEC in 2002. I have attended several seminars and conferences since with a willingness to learn more.

I also qualified in Indian Head Massage with an ITEC diploma in 2003 and since taken a further course in advanced Indian Head Massage.

Over several years I have training at different levels of Reiki to become a Reiki Master in 2009. Last year, I also qualified in Warm Bamboo Massage to add a different deep level of massage to my treatments.

    Therapies I offer:

    • Aromatherapy Massage
    • Reflexology
    • Indian Head Massage
    • Reiki
    • Hot Stone Massage

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor counselling having completed my Diploma in Professional Studies at the University of the West of England in 2008.  I am an accredited and registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy).  This means that I adhere to the Association’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling, and I have regular counselling supervision.

I believe that the key to the success of counselling is in establishing a trusting relationship, where you feel listened to and understood. This relationship in itself can be very therapeutic, and can enable you to find the courage to explore topics which might feel too sensitive or upsetting to discuss with friends or loved ones. You may wish to work short-term and focus on a particular issue, or you may prefer to have longer-term support, to give yourself time to work things through at your own pace.

I am a relational, integrative counsellor, which means I draw on a variety of counselling models and theories to inform my thinking. My main focus is psychodynamic and attachment-based, so I will be helping you to explore your unconscious thoughts and feelings, and how they are linked to your early experiences and to your current struggles. I offer individual counselling to adults on a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, loss and bereavement, eating disorders, trauma and abuse.

I have many years’ experience working as a counsellor in Third Sector organisations in Bristol, with adults with various mental health issues and very difficult life experiences. I also provide brief, time-limited counselling in an NHS IAPT service, as well as open-ended counselling in private practice.

    Therapy I offer:

    • Counselling
